We just dropped the third episode of behind-the-scenes series on the future of energy. We went out with the MYNT field crew, installing a battery system, and two solar projects across California. Most never see the grind behind these builds with the 2,000+ man-hours per site, zero margin for error, and real-time coordination between procurement, engineering, and ops, sometimes planned a year out. The built environment often gets overlooked, so we’re shining a light on the dedication and grit it takes to power the future.
Energy Storage (BESS) Unlocks Revenue and Provides Resiliency
In the accelerating transition to clean energy, battery storage has enabled seamless integration of renewables while transforming how energy is managed, moved, and monetized with safety at the core. Even more exciting, we’re moving into a future of bi-directional energy flow. This will turn traditional loads into dynamic assets, allowing behind-the-meter systems to become virtual power plants (VPPs) that provide energy when needed, relieve strain on the grid, all without new fossil-fuel peaker plants. Our vision of a decentralized energy future, which we have steadily executed on since the beginning, is finally reaching a tipping point where the question has become, “Why would you not do this?” Between the economics, the active shaping of load, helping the grid while avoiding rate increases, and providing more optionality for every stakeholder, it seems clear that the future is energy-abundant, accessible, equitable, and safe.
